Ur: The End of Civilization in 90 Tableaux (2015)

Ur: The End of Civilization in 90 Tableaux tells the story of six characters in search of a zombie apocalypse. It is intended as a minimalist, art house zombie film shot in the style of filmmakers like Joanna Hogg and Gus van Sant, while at the same time telling a complex story of human relations.

The cast for the film includes Beg Steal Borrow regulars Alex Chevasco, Dennis Chua and Laura Murray.

The cast also includes Beg Steal Borrow newcomers Edward Chevasco and Roseanna Frascona.

Taking on a more substantial role than his usual cameos, director William Brown will round out the main cast.

Ben Johnson acted as a producer on the project.

Make-up will be done by Ella Chevasco, with Beg Steal Borrow mainstay Tom Maine acting as Director of Photography. The crew will also consist of Julia Poliak, who was assistant director on Common Ground, and Alexandra Brown.

There will hopefully also be cameos from the rest of the Chevasco clan, including Alex, Edward and Ella’s parents, Berry and Charles.

Principle shooting took place on the beautiful Brondel estate near Monpazier, France between 22 and 29 July 2013.

Preparations for the film included a Kickstarter campaign to help raise the production’s profile and to help elevate Beg Steal Borrow away from stealing and borrowing, and simply into the realm of pure begging.

The film is still undergoing work on its sound design – following feedback from a preview screening at the Olympic Cinema in Barnes, London, in May 2014. In 2015, we hope to submit the film to festivals.
